OVERVIEW
Nova HA-016is a water conditioning additive used far adjusting the degree of hardness of the fountain solution to the condit ions which are ideal far printing. Water quali ty can have a strong effect on the printing quality. A total water hardness of 8-10′ dH (degrees German hardness) equal to 140-175 ppm CaC03, as suitable for offset printing. Hard water increases the pH of the fountain solution. lf the tota l water hardness is above 14′ dH (> 250 ppm CaC0 3), use of water conditioning technology should be considered. The water used to prepare the fountain solution should have a moderat e water hardness, not higher than 175 ppm CaC03 or 10′ dH (German hardness). in hard water areas, it is recommended to use a water condi tioning unit and to adjust the water hardness of the demineralized water with Nova HA-016 to 8 -10′ dH (140 180 ppm CaC03). In soft water areas, It is also recommended to adjust the water hardness accordingly.

APPLICATION
Adding 0,1% Nova HA-016 to deionized water will provide a water hardness of 2- dH (German hardness). To obtain the ideal water hardness of 8 -10′ dH, it is necessary to add 0,4 to 0,5% Nova HA-016 (4 to 5 ml per li ter) to the demineralized process water . After the hardness has been adjusted correctly, the water can then be mi xed with the respectvi e fountain solution additive.
